We have been loving our new puppy Abby, she is growing so fast everyday. The first week we got her she was 11 weeks old and I could barely lift her. She is now just about unliftable for me. She is the sweetest dog and has the softest-loose fur. She is mostly sweet except when she pee's on our floor and bites too hard when she is excited.
I was recently asked at Diamond Ranch Academy to work full time. I have been doing my Counseling Internship there and finished my hours early. I will start on Thursday 3/26/09 my job is perfect for me. I have not ever wanted to do therapy full time so this job is perfect because it is group therapy, Narcotics Anonymouse, Individual Counseling, and teaching therapeutic classes.
Rich is liking his job at the Leavitt Group. He is constantly saying some days are good and he feels he is getting the hang of it then other days he feels like he doesn't know anything. I am just grateful he has a job in this economy. He seems to be liking his coworkers and has a lot of fun with them. He passed his insurance examinations the second time around by a mile.
My counseling licensure tests are coming up in July so I have been spending at least an hour studying for them. I get a mega raise when I get my license.
Rich is still interested in the coaching thing at Canyon View and we are hoping he will be able to coach along with his job at the Leavitt group because he enjoys working with the high school kids so much. Rich just attended a coach training with a bunch of other coaches down at UNLV in Las Vegas. I think it is more to have his boy time.
A couple weeks ago we went to the site of the Mountain Meadows Massacre, its just amazing how sore feelings can get in the way of values and beliefs. The mountain meadow massacre was actually a story about the pioneers. After being kicked out of Nauvoo and then residing in Utah the persecutors came through their new territory. Feelings were still hurt and several members took out their frusterations and followed military orders to massacre the travelers. I remember hearing this story when I was not active in the LDS church. I was surprised this would be true because the Mormons are generally peaceful. I explained that I did not know the story of the massacre, but I didn't feel Joseph Smith was an evil or harmful person. He was a 14 year old boy seeking truth and didn't know where to go when he recieved a visitation from two heavenly beings. The holy spirit testified very powerfully to me that the story I was relaying was true. I began to search the LDS church for myself and eventually it has become very close to my heart.
